Who We Are
Founded in 1985 as a midstream stevedore, St. James Stevedoring Co. L.L.C. takes its name from the Louisiana parish where it is headquartered. St. James operates from a 370-acre base adjacent to the Mississippi River in the Port of South Louisiana, in Convent. Our goal is to give our customers the best service available while providing a work environment where safety is primary and where our workers share in the company's success.
Because stevedoring is a complex activity, it is imperative that all of the players work toward the same goals. We do this by letting our workers share significantly in the company's sucess. A third of our profits are given to our employees on a quarterly basis. And because of all of this, we believe we have gained the best group of employees in the market… and they prove us right every day. Want to know who we are?
